A Call To Leadership

by Linda Dye Ellis, A Call To Leadership Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download A Call To Leadership books, A Call to Leadership examines commonly accepted condemnations of public education and highlights the key role played by the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents (IAPSS) in supporting its members' tireless struggle for educational improvement and in correcting public misconceptions. While the book describes specific circumstances in Indiana, efforts at the state level reflect educational challenges throughout the United States, and this volume will be a valuable reference source for educational policy makers throughout North America. Since the IAPSS's foundation, graduation rates have risen over twenty percent, and more rigorous coursework has been introduced to an increasingly diverse pool of students. The landscape of education has changed, as 1,100 Indiana school districts have been consolidated into 293 corporations under the direction of licensed superintendents. Throughout the whole period, school leaders have struggled to implement increasingly complex programs that have often been mandated but left underfunded.

A Call To Lead

by Wytress Richardson, A Call To Lead Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download A Call To Lead books, No matter the gender, skin color, or race of a person I find myself mentoring, particularly in my role as an academic, I strive to support each person in reaching his or her full potential (as far as I can take that person). I desire to see the individuals I'm privileged to lead grow in such a way that they can confidently pursue any opportunity that crosses their path and eventually become strong, effective leaders themselves. I seek to aid those in which I come upon to bravely tackle and break through the barriers they will undoubtedly face in their personal and professional journeys and develop to become the kind of leaders who are servants thereby leading with power and compassion, and moreover getting the respect they deserve. Because of my background and experiences, I do have an affinity for African American women leaders-born and taught, past, present, and future. That's the primary reason for this book. And yes, my drive to influence African American women leaders is a bit personal. This book will focus on what it takes to be an effective leader. It will examine the inner soul work that is imperative for leaders to do in an effort to lead and care for the souls of others well. We will also explore the hard and soft skills required to lead successfully. My hope for every reader is that you will walk away with a clear understanding of what's expected of you as a leader. Likewise, I want you to gain the knowledge that leadership is a service and not a privilege. Finally, it may seem as though the book is solely written for black women, as I do reference this population a great deal; however, don't judge a book by its cover. This book is for anyone with an interest in leading effectively.

Leadership As A Call To Service

by Christine Cameron, Leadership As A Call To Service Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Leadership As A Call To Service books, With a foreword from Suzanne Noffke OP. In Leadership as a call to Service. The lives and works of Teresa of Avila, Catherine of Siena and Therese of Lisieux, Christine Cameron looks at a synthesis of the lives and works of the three women doctors of the Catholic Church as servant leaders. The seminal work of Greenleaf (1970) on servant leadership and Spears (1998) with his identification of the ten core characteristics of servant leadership provided the framework and inspiration for this book. The focus is on how the ten core characteristics of listening, empathy, healing, awareness, persuasion, conceptualisation, foresight, stewardship, commitment to the growth of people and building community are reflected in the leadership practices of Teresa, Catherine and Therese. Christine Cameron is married with a grown family. Christine has served in administrative positions in Catholic primary schools in New South Wales Australia as Principal, Assistant Principal and as Religious Education Co-Ordinator. This book is based on Christine's recent successful PhD research Women Doctors of the Catholic Church: A Study in Servant Leadership.
