Phonics For English Reading Spelling And Writing Express

by Pauline M. Adamson, Phonics For English Reading Spelling And Writing Express Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Phonics For English Reading Spelling And Writing Express books, Afundamental phonics program for reading, spelling and writing for beginners to advanced learners based on an integration of the work of four revolutionary educators which includes Romalda Spalding, Dr. Samuel Orton, Jean Zier and Leonard Ayers. The sequential step-by-step guide for the program's 3-level, kindergarten through 3rd grade (or remedial and self help), curriculum coordinates the presentation and integrates the teaching order of the direct, intensive, systematic, multi-sensory Spalding methodology patterned after "The Writing Road to Reading" (1990). The 72 Orton Phonograms are the primary written phonics codes for the 45 single sounds heard in English speech; they represent the common spelling patterns for speaking, syllable-by-syllable word-building and reading. The phonograms consist of the 26 alphabet letters and 46 set combinations of 2 to 4 letters that say 1-6 single sounds. The 72 phonograms are taught explicitly with Zier's concept of easy-to-learn illustrated keyword captions that depict the phonograms' sound sequences. The Spalding spelling rules and word markings are taught with the Ayers spelling list of 1300 words that are used most frequently in the English language, arranged in the order of increasing difficulty for each successive grade level in lesson plans and wordsheets. Appendix A: 72 Illustrated Orton Phonograms (reproducible masters). Appendix B: 28 Lesson Plan/Worksheets (reproducible masters).

Reading And Writing Development For Teenagers With Down Syndrome 11 16 Years

by Down Syndrome Educational Trust, Reading And Writing Development For Teenagers With Down Syndrome 11 16 Years Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Reading And Writing Development For Teenagers With Down Syndrome 11 16 Years books, Reading skills are often a strength for teenagers with Down syndrome. Teenagers can often read at a higher level than would be predicted from their general cognitive and language abilities. Those who have not achieved reading success in their primary years may make significant progress during their teenage years. Reading and writing skills are important for everyday life and for access to the world of literature. They are also powerful tools for developing the speech and language of teenagers with Down syndrome and for mediating their cognitive development. Reading and writing can support communication, enable teenagers to achieve greater independence and enrich education and academic attainments across the curriculum. This module explains how language and literacy teaching can work together to promote the development of teenagers with Down syndrome. Guidance on teaching methods, expectations and examples of teenagers' work combine to show teachers and parents how to include teenagers in literacy learning programmes, with an understanding of particular issues related to speech, language and memory development. This module should be read in conjunction with Reading and writing for individuals with Down syndrome: An overview, DSii-07-01] as the overview provides important background information on how individuals learn to read, the adaptations that will help pupils with Down syndrome, and the benefits of being involved in reading instruction
